The core make-up of our laminated solid board is greyboard/chipboard. We source this product from our sister company Romiley Board Mill based in the Stockport area, England

Romiley Board produces circa 55,000 tonne per annum. All their products are made from 100% recycled wastepaper sourced from within the UK.

The Process

The wastepaper is graded, and correct mix is pulped into a stock with consists of 95% water and 5% fibre. Stock is then cleaned and screened before it’s transferred onto the board machine. Our board is manufactured up to 7 plys where it’s formed and dried into a base material called recycled chipboard.

Romiley Board are UK market leaders in the manufacture and supply of:

The Process

We laminate our high-quality solid board using a various combination of paper liner onto the chipboard depending on customer specification. This can be a combination of plain brown or white kraft paper to PE lined papers and/or coated woodfree liners

Once the solid board is laminated to customer specification it’s shipped to our BRC converting facility located in Cumbernauld, Scotland.

The Process

The next part of the process is die-cutting of solid board on our new Heidelberg Promatrix 145 CBS to dimensions of your required pack.

Once board has been die-cut, blanks are then load onto the gluing machine. The gluing machine are fitted with monitors that apply adhesive onto the gluing flaps. If the glue applicators fail, then the machine will stop, and any boxes made at that time will be quarantined. After gluing the boxes are strapped in bundles and palletised ready for shipment to end users and/or packaging merchant.

With group vertical integration, our aim is to become the UK’s leading provider of solid board packaging solutions.

Our boxes are used in wide variety of markets/end applications.
